Cooperation of a kindergarten teacher with other experts when working with a child with a cochlear implant

The bachelor thesis deals with the issue of education of children with cochlear implants in a regular kindergarten class. The main aim is to find out how the cooperation between the kindergarten and the specialist departments takes place and whether this cooperation is sufficient for the overall development of the child after cochlear implantation. The theoretical part is developed in four chapters, which include basic concepts, definitions, aetiology, developmental peculiarities of preschool children with hearing impairment and the legislative framework. In the first chapter I discuss hearing impairment, in the second chapter I discuss the characteristics of preschool and the specific peculiarities of this period. Chapter three discusses the legislative framework and the final chapter focuses on the possibilities of educating a preschool child with a hearing impairment in kindergarten. In the practical part, a questionnaire is developed, which I asked the teaching staff of regular kindergartens who have experience with inclusive education of a child with a cochlear implant to fill in. The questionnaire survey with the results is elaborated in the practical part of the bachelor thesis. It was conducted electronically for three weeks.
The importance of communicationaids in socialising and improving the quality of life, of people with hearing disabilities

The main aim of this thesis is to find out the opinion of people with hearing impairment about the efforts of the majority society to reduce communication barriers and thus to facilitate better integration into the majority society. To achieve this and sub-objectives, I would like to prove this through a structured questionnaire sent out to people with hearing impairment (schools and organisations) across the country. Pedagogical diagnostics of children with hearing disability of preschool age

This bachelor thesis deals with the topic of a pedagogical diagnostics of children with hearing disability. The aim is to find out if the chosen diagnostic's material, which is meanted for children without any disability, is applicated in the process of pedagogical diagnostic of children with special educational necessaries. In the theoretical part is described hearing and its appropriateness, etiology and classification of hearing defects, investigating's methods of hearing's function and also compensatory aids. This part also described specifies of the develompent of children with hearing disability. There is also defined the term of pedagogical diagnostics and its types. At the end of the theoretical part is described the chosen diagnostic's material which is used in the practical part of this bachelor thesis. The practical part consists of case studies and the work with diagnostic material. This part also described the results of pedagogical diagnostics of five chosen children with hearing disability.
Course of an early intervention in a child with hearing impairment

The thesis deals with the course of the early intervention in children with a hearing impairment. The main goal of this work is to map the services of early intervention in the Czech Republic, specifically in the vicinity of its capital. One of the goals is to evaluate these services from the perspective of both the parents and the professionals. The theoretical part deals with the child's personality and the initial period of his/her life, including its historical concept and importance in the family. The chapter is devoted to early intervention itself, discussing its importance, objectives and legislative inclusion. Part of this work is also devoted to the history and individual ministries that provide their services to families and children with hearing impairments. The following chapters deal with the offered possibilities of education of children with a hearing impairment and diagnostics of hearing defects, as well as compensatory aids, therapy and communication systems. The practical part mainly concerns the course of evaluation of early intervention, including early care services in the Center for Children's Hearing Tamtam, o. p. s. The results of the research survey were processed from interviews with parents and early care counselors.
Integrated Education of a Pupil with Special educational needs - Case Study

The aim of this thesis is to analyse the current situation in integrated educating of a pupil with special educational needs, or more specifically, of a child with high functioning autism combined with practical deafness. Through analysis of specialised literature, the theoretical part defines the expression integration; other definitions include hearing disability and autism as the causes limiting the pupil's inclusion in educating in a mainstream elementary school. The practical part of the thesis includes a case study - description of the pupil's case. Experience is described from the current integrated education in a special elementary school where the pupil is educated according to the Framework Educational Program for Elementary Schools, with the prospective of upcoming re-integration into the mainstream elementary school, or, as the case may be, depending on the parents' decision, his integration in an elementary school for hearing impaired children. In drawing up the case study, the following methods were applied: observation and analysis of the pupil's educational products.
Substance use among people with hearing disability: exploration and cerrelation probe

Although there are about 500 000 of people with hearing impairment in Czech republic, a risk group of substance abuse due to determinants of this impairment, there are distinctive lack of studies focused on this theme in our state. There are few foreign studies offering some results, overall interest is still slender in this issue. This work was aimed to define the basic terms and briefly describe difficulties of hearing impairment, psychological aspects and patterns of drug use in hearing impaired population due to available resources and exploration and correlation questionnaire study. The study had a questionnaire form and was spread by snow ball method in first stage, through 8 basic subjects on social network called facebook.com and other forms of mass communication. In the second stage we used a purposeful selection at two schools for the hearing impaired in Prague. Participants were indviduals with more than 20 dB hearing loss (includes) in both cases. The participation was no age or locally restricted. The result of theoretical and practical part is a fact, that drug using in hearing impaired population is on the same or maybe even higher level like in intact population. Specific Needs of Deaf People Studying at Universities in Czech Republic

The thesis focuses on the issue of education of people with hearing disabilities at universities in the Czech Republic. It emphasizes the specific educational needs of people with hearing disabilities who study at the university, and which meet the needs by support services. Work specifically address to the different types of support services and centres to support students with special educational needs at universities that offer these services. The survey, conducted in the form of online questionnaire, found that the use of support services is frequented and at the same time, the quality of these services is rated as very high. The survey also followed the use of modifications graduation exam correlated using a modification of entrance exams for universities. Created an online questionnaire in the Czech sign language provides effective feedback deaf students to the centres to support students with special educational needs. Deaf culture focused on visiting castles in the Czech Republic

This Bachelor thesis is focused Deaf culture in the Czech Republic. The purpose of this paper is examining attitude of the Deaf community towards culture, especially cultural landsites. Secondly, it is supposed to inform about the insufficient translating capacities available considering the access barier of such cultural events. Theoretical part describes ear anatomy, diagnostics, hearing aids and individual problems and needs of respective handicapped people. Second theoretical part is focused on Deaf cummunity and culture built around it. Emprirical part is based on survey conducted in the Deaf communities around the Czech Republic. This method shows how does this community evaluate the quality of cultural life (visiting castles and chateaus) and what could be done to enhance it.
